I’m bored of my cream country style kitchen and want to inject some fun colour. What do you suggest?

A cream colour scheme can easily darken over a period of time through general kitchen usage, becoming tired and drab. However a few things can be done to liven up an uninspiring kitchen.

You could replace traditional kitchen equipment with bold, brightly coloured accessories. Or if the budget allows, you could go for a complete revolution and redecorate. Investing in new cabinetry can bring new life to a kitchen – such as Chalon’s Original range.

If an overhaul is out of the question, then possibly re-painting individual units or the whole kitchen might be best. This gives you the option of trying different colours until you have found what you like. But remember to check the units are made of a material suitable to be painted, then prime wood first before painting in the top colour of your choice.

Chalon produces traditional country kitchen pieces made specifically to your order in a variety of colours. I would recommend their light purple cabinets, although this may be too dark for smaller rooms lacking light – if this is the case try baby blue or ice cream pink instead. 01458 254 600 www.chalon.com
