Are pyrolytic ovens any good? If so, could you recommend one please?
I’ve got one myself and they are very good. Pyrolytic ovens use extreme heat to oxidise dirt and grime into a powder form, which is simple to remove. The extra that you will pay for a pyrolytic oven is minimal compared to how much time you’ll save maintaining it.
There is also a new more energy efficient technology that you should consider. Ovens with Aqua clean (steam cycles) can be used to loosen grime, allowing easier manual removal. You simply pour water into a baking tray, select the ‘Aqua Clean’ option and let the 70°C steam soften the dirt on the oven walls. After approximately half an hour, wipe the surfaces down with a soft cloth (no cleaning agent required) and enjoy a clean oven again. Appliance manufacturer, Gorenje, has invested in this innovative technology.
Gaggenau’s single B0 270 oven has a pyrolytic function with the BS 270 combi-steam oven, which has a steam cleaning function, and a WS 261 six-placesetting warming drawer.
