Why should I choose a Bespoke Kitchen?
Why should I choose a Bespoke Kitchen?
Bespoke kitchens are popular because they enable clients both to differentiate themselves and to express themselves. The standard high street kitchens are made by picking carcass sizes and door styles, all of which are available to the whole market. With a bespoke product, clients can tailor the materials, functionality, colour schemes and ergonomics to suit their lifestyle. There are few companies that are truly bespoke as many “pre-make” standard units. At Aldenham, no unit is made prior to the final signing off of the plans and the final site visit for measurements.
The advantages of a totally bespoke design are that cupboards and furniture are never limited by ‘standard sizes’. Therefore, kitchens can be made-to-measure working around awkward areas and making the most of architectural quirks in the house! Another advantage is that, because of this, they are made by craftsmen rather than production lines. They are more robust, better fitting and they look nicer. The final advantage is that you are more likely to get really expert advice from the designer.
The client can have as much or as little input into the design as they feel necessary or comfortable with. Sometimes customers feel they want to design a kitchen themselves but a truly bespoke company like Aldenham will have experienced professional help at hand to guide and advise. At Aldenham, all plans are drawn in elevation, plan and three dimensional perspective. Prior to manufacture, the designer will take final measurements and then there will be a second measuring and site visit by the installer.
As long as space allows, more or less any special feature the client wants can be incorporated. With storage and work areas, as our cabinet interiors are non-standard and completely bespoke we can completely customise cupboards to whatever purpose the client desires. Many people now opt for an ‘office’ cupboard - complete with laptop, telephone, filing – which can all be hidden behind discreet doors.
Contrasting materials such as twinning dark Walnut wood with white marble tops is currently very popular, although painted finishes are still an enduring favourite. Again, the beauty of a bespoke kitchen is being able to specify exactly what you want, right down to the last hinge and handle.
